Meg Biallas, founder and principal with Moxie Communications, LLC, has worked for more than 15 years in communications and marketing. To date, she has supported national, state and local nonprofits focused on health, early care and education, youth and workforce development, and civic engagement.
Prior to starting Moxie Communications, Meg spent four years in-house with Child Care Aware of America (CCAoA), where she managed digital marketing and public relations. During her tenure, Meg equipped advocates to call for state and federal child care legislation that would lead to more affordable, accessible and equitable child care across the country; provided marketing technical assistance to the organization's network of 250 state agencies, including Indiana-based organizations Child Care Answers and Early Learning Indiana; and led a back-to-school advertising campaign to promote vaccine awareness among children and their families.
Prior to her work at CCAoA, Meg served in a broad range of in-house communications roles in Washington, D.C., including as the Director of Communications for the Center for Public Justice, and in digital marketing roles for First Focus on Children, the National Sexual Assault Hotline and the Council for a Strong America. Her expertise includes communications and marketing strategy, video, media buys and monitoring, organic social media, website content and metrics, email marketing, and earned media.
Meg holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in journalism, both from Butler University (Indianapolis, IN). Meg is the Marketing Committee Chair for Dress for Success Indianapolis and serves on the Young Professionals Advisory Council for the Rethink Coalition.
Founder and CEO Meg Biallas kicked off her marketing and communications career ten days after college graduation with two suitcases and a one-way ticket to Washington, D.C.
Shortly thereafter, a new colleague remarked on her arrival, stating "well, you've got some moxie, don't you?"
Throughout her career, Meg has embraced the label. From organizing press events on Capitol Hill and producing podcasts to designing public awareness campaigns and mobilizing advocates, Meg has gone after her work with energy, determination and, above all, a commitment to excellence.
"Moxie" embodies both the momentum and expertise that will take your brand to the next level.
It turns out that labels can be a good thing.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The National Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders (ECFPL), an initiative of Lilly Endowment, Inc., hosted by the Center for Congregations, sought to promote a new podcast series called Money + Ministry to inspire clergy, congregations and communities to normalize conversations about money. As a subcontractor for Pen+Principle, a boutique strategic communications firm, Meg developed a marketing toolkit for grantees to spread awareness of the media content.
THE APPROACH
Meg utilized podcast transcripts and a brand guide to pull quotes, draft message templates and design social graphics that were packaged into a downloadable toolkit. Meg also advised on featuring the podcast on the ECFPL website. The toolkit was distributed to key audiences during virtual and in-person meetings with grantees, as well as shared via stakeholder communications.
THE RESULTS
The toolkit was shared with 49 grantee organizations across the United States. In the six months following its launch, Money + Ministry content has held two of the five spots for top downloaded content from the Center for Congregations.
